Anthony Mason, Baritone
Anthony is featured as “Colonel Calverley” in Patience in our concert series.
Anthony was “Don Alhambra del Bolero” our production of The Gondoliers last year.
Anthony is well-known in many music theatre circles in Sydney, he has a wide-ranging list of credits including “Robin Oakapple” in Ruddigore, “The Boatswain” in H.M.S. Pinafore, “Bill Sikes” in Oliver!, “Bud Frump” in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, “Strephon” in Iolanthe, “Pish-Tush” in The Mikado and “Benny Southstreet” in Guys and Dolls.
Even though his nights and weekends are often shared with theatre people, Anthony's days involve working in a desk job at a very big company, in digital media.
After his experiences in a range of musical theatre styles, Anthony still finds the music in Sullivan's scores too spirited and Gilbert's dialogue too ingenious to ignore.
