Kate Mannix, Mezzo-Soprano
Kate is featured as the understudy for “Ruth” in this year's production of The Pirates of Penzance.
Kate Mannix trained for the theatre in London. She spent some years in repertory there in many distinguished theatres, in works including: The Taming of the Shrew, Having a Ball, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and Kismet. A highlight was playing the silent screen legend, Lillian Gish, in the original West End production of The Biograph Girl (1980-81) at the Phoenix Theatre, London, with Miss Gish present on opening night. Kate appeared in two national Australian tours, Postman Pat and Banjo the Man. More recently, for Chatswood MS, Kate appeared in Into the Woods (2015), the 65th Anniversary Concert (2016) and the Australian premiere of It Shoulda Been You (2017).
