Rory Struthers, Baritone
Rory is the understudy of the role “The Pirate King” in this year's production of The Pirates of Penzance.
Rory has recently toured China with the Australian International Opera Company, singing the roles of Ping and the Mandarin in Puccini’s Turandot.
He has been a regular principal with Rockdale Opera since making his debut as Mr Cox in Cox & Box, and singing the roles of Antonio in The Marriage of Figaro, John Styx in Orpheus in the Underworld, Krušina in The Bartered Bride and Don Alhambra del Bolero in The Gondoliers.
Rory has performed the roles of Sam in Monsoon and Father Hilario in Timor with Opera Prometheus, has appeared with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in Tristan und Isolde and is a regular soloist for gala concerts throughout Sydney.
Appearing in his first theatre production at the New Theatre, Newtown, he performed in a staged reading of Dorothy Hewett’s play ‘The Chapel Perilous’ as part of an educational program for local schools.
