Carl Olsen, Bass BaritoneCarl is featured as “Sir Marmaduke” in The Sorcerer.
Between 1995 and 2016, Carl was involved in around 60 productions as a performer, director or writer. These include operas, musicals, plays and concerts with societies all over Sydney. Some of his favourite roles include Sweeney Todd, Javert (Les Mis), The Beast (Beauty and the Beast), Cladwell (Urinetown), Benny Southstreet (Guys & Dolls), Pilate (Superstar), several Pirate Kings, and the 3 roles he previously played at GSO Sydney: The Duke of Plaza-Toro, Pooh Bah, and Sir Marmaduke. After a break that got way out of hand, Carl returned to the stage this year in A New Brain, and has now returned to Sir Marmaduke, older but not wiser. |

About UsThe Savoy Arts Company Incorporated has been producing shows since 1985, specialising in the operettas of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. To better reflect its primary artistic objective, commencing from 2014, the company will be performing as Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Sydney. Our performing group has provided excellent training in all aspects of stagecraft for performers who have made a career in opera and musical theatre. The Ensemble style of our productions not only provides the chorus with experience in singing with an orchestra, but also provides ample opportunity to learn and develop skills in characterisation and stagecraft.
