Ed SuttleEd started singing at a tender age at a small private school in England. If you could sing you were in the choir whether you enjoyed it or not. Fortunately, he did!
Ed has presented recitals in Sydney, Goulburn and the UK. He has also sung in the Opera Australia chorus, Sydney Chamber Choir, Cantillation, Contemporary Singers, Australian Brandenburg Choir, Parsons Affayre, St Mary’s Cathedral Choir, and probably others he can’t remember. Recent principal roles have included Dr Colas in Mozart’s Bastien & Bastienne, Father in Bach’s Coffee Cantata and Peasant in Carl Orff’s Die Kluge. This is Ed’s first G&S since being the Judge in a school performance of Trial by Jury. When not singing Ed ran his own Executive Search business for 25 years, and he retired in 2017. He now runs a 230 acres Angus cattle property outside Goulburn with wife Jane, heads a group building Australia’s largest community-owned solar farm and is on the board of the Hume Conservatorium of Music. Over the years he has developed a stiff upper lip and a very thick skin; physical attributes gained as a result of a lifetime supporting England cricket. |

About UsThe Savoy Arts Company Incorporated has been producing shows since 1985, specialising in the operettas of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. To better reflect its primary artistic objective, commencing from 2014, the company will be performing as Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Sydney. Our performing group has provided excellent training in all aspects of stagecraft for performers who have made a career in opera and musical theatre. The Ensemble style of our productions not only provides the chorus with experience in singing with an orchestra, but also provides ample opportunity to learn and develop skills in characterisation and stagecraft.
