Martin Everett, TenorMartin is featured as “Frederic” in this year's production of The Pirates of Penzance. Martin shares this role with John L'Estrange.
Martin is an Actor and Singer based in Sydney. Born on the Central Coast he didn’t discover Musical Theatre or singing until a few years after High School when a friend told him to audition for West Side Story (Packemin Productions, 2016). He’d been studying music and singing at Uni for a year by then and was itching for a chance to actually try out something scary like performing. Fast-forward to 2021 and the performing bug shows no sign of letting him go. He still has his Central Coast “tall-poppy syndrome” to shirk but there’s no role quite like Peter Allen in THE BOY FROM OZ to force someone outside their comfort zone and into the bright lights. Peter Allen taught the world and especially Australians that it’s ok to shine and we should shine as brightly as we want to. Since studying at Australian Institute of Music (BM-Musical Theatre), Martin has been involved in several independent productions including: "Charlie Price" in KINKY BOOTS (FreeRain Theatre); "Claudio" in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (Bar’d Work’s inaugural “The ShakesBeer Sessions”) and "Steve Hart" in NED: A NEW AUSTRALIAN MUSICAL (Plush Duck Productions). |

About UsThe Savoy Arts Company Incorporated has been producing shows since 1985, specialising in the operettas of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. To better reflect its primary artistic objective, commencing from 2014, the company will be performing as Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Sydney. Our performing group has provided excellent training in all aspects of stagecraft for performers who have made a career in opera and musical theatre. The Ensemble style of our productions not only provides the chorus with experience in singing with an orchestra, but also provides ample opportunity to learn and develop skills in characterisation and stagecraft.
