Matthew MorrisMatt is featured as “John Wellington Wells” in The Sorcerer.
Matt’s love of music began at an early age with piano, saxophone, and clarinet. Moving to singing in his later years of schooling, he had the opportunity to tour with the Barker College Chamber Choir to a variety of far-flung locales. Some of his early career highlights include performing in cathedrals and recital halls throughout continental Europe and the United Kingdom, as well as competing in the Sydney Eisteddfod and the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. Matt has appeared in productions of Grease, where he understudied the role of Kenickie, as Theseus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and appeared briefly in the online series LG15: The Last. Most recently, Matt joined GSOS for their 2024 performances of HMS Pinafore where he supported the roles of Sir Joseph Porter and Bill Bobstay, the Boatswain’s Mate, and he is thrilled for the opportunity to perform as John Wellington Wells in this year's production of The Sorcerer! |

About UsThe Savoy Arts Company Incorporated has been producing shows since 1985, specialising in the operettas of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. To better reflect its primary artistic objective, commencing from 2014, the company will be performing as Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Sydney. Our performing group has provided excellent training in all aspects of stagecraft for performers who have made a career in opera and musical theatre. The Ensemble style of our productions not only provides the chorus with experience in singing with an orchestra, but also provides ample opportunity to learn and develop skills in characterisation and stagecraft.
