Wayne Richmond, BaritoneWayne gained valuable early musical experience during a ten year stretch in the 70s with the Sydney University based early music consort The Renaissance Players.
Since 1995 he has facilitated the community-based music ensemble Loosely Woven (looselywoven.org) which produces three brand new shows each year with extremely varied programs ranging from folk to pop to opera. In 2018 the group broke out of this mould and staged a full production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Trial by Jury in which Wayne played the part of the Judge. In 2007 he, and his wife Gial, purchased the former Allambie Heights Uniting Church and established Humph Hall (humphhall.org) as a rehearsal and performance space for Loosely Woven as well as a concert venue for hundreds of other performers from all over the world. Since September 2019 Wayne has also facilitated the string ensemble known as The Corona Ensemble (corona-ensemble.org). |

About UsThe Savoy Arts Company Incorporated has been producing shows since 1985, specialising in the operettas of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. To better reflect its primary artistic objective, commencing from 2014, the company will be performing as Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Sydney. Our performing group has provided excellent training in all aspects of stagecraft for performers who have made a career in opera and musical theatre. The Ensemble style of our productions not only provides the chorus with experience in singing with an orchestra, but also provides ample opportunity to learn and develop skills in characterisation and stagecraft.
