Anne-Louise Harris (nee Finlayson), Mezzo SopranoAnne-Louise is featured as “Yum-Yum” in The Mikado.
Originally from the rural town of Dalby, Queensland, Australia, Anne-Louise grew up surrounded by music and language. During her schooling years, Anne-Louise was fortunate to have been able to work with notable singers, such as Jason Barry-Smith, Kate Miller-Heidke and Marcia Hines. At 14, she was chosen to work as a soloist with renowned Queensland Pops Orchestra conductor, Colin Harper. Anne-Louise was also a soloist in the 31st International Music Festival, Vienna, and was handpicked as a soloist at a Mass in St Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City. At age 16 she spent 6 months on an exchange program in Belgium, furthering her French studies. She was named the Queensland Youth of the Year in 2004. Anne-Louise was accepted into the Queensland Conservatorium of Music where she obtained her Bachelor of Music (Classical Voice), and a Graduate Diploma of Music Studies (Contemporary Voice). She has also attended the prestigious Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, England, where she went on to receive her Graduate Diploma in Musical Theatre. Anne-Louise then spent a further two years in the U.K touring and performing in musicals and pantomimes. Anne-Louise is now an experienced and professional singer, specialising in a wide range of musical styles from Pop music to Jazz and Opera. Her varied skills and successes has lead her to perform as a lead role in several different musicals, including as “Tessa” in The Gondoliers with us (2015), and Godspell, Cinderella, A Little Night Music and “Buttercup” in H.M.S Pinafore amongst others. |

About UsThe Savoy Arts Company Incorporated has been producing shows since 1985, specialising in the operettas of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. To better reflect its primary artistic objective, commencing from 2014, the company will be performing as Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Sydney. Our performing group has provided excellent training in all aspects of stagecraft for performers who have made a career in opera and musical theatre. The Ensemble style of our productions not only provides the chorus with experience in singing with an orchestra, but also provides ample opportunity to learn and develop skills in characterisation and stagecraft.
