Anthony Mason, BaritoneAnthony is featured as “Colonel Calverley” in Patience in our concert series.
Anthony was “Don Alhambra del Bolero” our production of The Gondoliers last year. Anthony is well-known in many music theatre circles in Sydney, he has a wide-ranging list of credits including “Robin Oakapple” in Ruddigore, “The Boatswain” in H.M.S. Pinafore, “Bill Sikes” in Oliver!, “Bud Frump” in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, “Strephon” in Iolanthe, “Pish-Tush” in The Mikado and “Benny Southstreet” in Guys and Dolls. Even though his nights and weekends are often shared with theatre people, Anthony's days involve working in a desk job at a very big company, in digital media. After his experiences in a range of musical theatre styles, Anthony still finds the music in Sullivan's scores too spirited and Gilbert's dialogue too ingenious to ignore. |

About UsThe Savoy Arts Company Incorporated has been producing shows since 1985, specialising in the operettas of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. To better reflect its primary artistic objective, commencing from 2014, the company will be performing as Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Sydney. Our performing group has provided excellent training in all aspects of stagecraft for performers who have made a career in opera and musical theatre. The Ensemble style of our productions not only provides the chorus with experience in singing with an orchestra, but also provides ample opportunity to learn and develop skills in characterisation and stagecraft.
