Belinda DelaneyBelinda’s association with GSOS began in 2004 when she directed Patience, however her theatrical life began as a 6-year-old Munchkin at Newcastle Young People’s Theatre. She went on to study Musical Theatre at WAAPA and later earned her Grad Dip Ed in Drama. She currently teaches for NIDA Open. Recent years have seen her as a drama mentor for a Gifted and Talented school unit, running High School Shakespeare in performance workshops and devising and delivering social skills drama, self-regulation and history in action incursions for pre-schoolers through to Year 10.
In 2021/22, she toured professionally with “The lost voice of Anne Bronte”, which she also costumed. In 2020 she won the Broadway World Sydney Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role of Golde in Willoughby Theatre Company’s Fiddler on the Roof. Her other GSOS credits include Katisha in The Mikado and Ruth understudy in Pirates. Other professional theatre credits include: Bubba (The Doll Trilogy - HVTC), Rosina (The Venetian Twins - HVTC), Octavia (Antony & Cleopatra), Freewheels TIE and cabaret work (NYC/Sydney/Newcastle/Blue Mountains). Her favourite stage roles range from Maria in The Sound of Music to Nancy in Oliver and Dymphna Clark in History of Australia – The Musical. Belinda consistently works professionally on screen. Frequently seen in Ads (eg Airtasker Amazing, Tena Woman) and re-enactment dramas such as Deadly Women and Crime Investigation Australia. Her first commercially released feature film role in Get a Life – Alright! is currently viewable on 9Now! Belinda is an experienced TV Presenter and voice over artist, currently the face of numerous eLearning modules and the voice of many start-up companies’ animations. This is her second Iolanthe – previously having played Fleta for Newcastle G&S last century! |

About UsThe Savoy Arts Company Incorporated has been producing shows since 1985, specialising in the operettas of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. To better reflect its primary artistic objective, commencing from 2014, the company will be performing as Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Sydney. Our performing group has provided excellent training in all aspects of stagecraft for performers who have made a career in opera and musical theatre. The Ensemble style of our productions not only provides the chorus with experience in singing with an orchestra, but also provides ample opportunity to learn and develop skills in characterisation and stagecraft.
