Bernice Zandona, Soprano
Bernice is featured as “Zorah” in this year's production of The Ghosts of Ruddigore.
Bernice also understudies the role of “Rose Maybud”.
Soprano, Bernice Zandona, grew up in Bathurst and was involved in music there from an
early age, having sung in numerous eisteddfodau and local musical theatre productions.
Since moving to Sydney in 2008, Bernice has gained experience in numerous performance
settings as a chorister, soloist, ensemble singer, recitalist and principal artist. She has sung
with the St Paul's College Chapel Choir, the Cantorion Sydney Male Voice Choir, Cantabile
Choir, Opera Prometheus, Con Opera, Sydney Independent Opera, Opera Lirica, Rockdale
Opera, and Opera Projects Sydney. Roles include Catherine in Love By Lanternlight
(Offenbach), Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro (Mozart), Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus (J
Strauss), Mařenka in The Bartered Bride (Smetana), and Zerlina in Don Giovanni (Mozart).
Having appeared annually in the historic music hall production Victoriana! for the past 10
years, Bernice is excited to further explore this era and comedic style in her first ever
Gilbert & Sullivan roles!

The Savoy Arts Company Incorporated has been producing shows since 1985, specialising in the operettas of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. To better reflect its primary artistic objective, commencing from 2014, the company will be performing as Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Sydney. Our performing group has provided excellent training in all aspects of stagecraft for performers who have made a career in opera and musical theatre. The Ensemble style of our productions not only provides the chorus with experience in singing with an orchestra, but also provides ample opportunity to learn and develop skills in characterisation and stagecraft.
