Johanne Perera, TenorJohanne is featured as “Antonio” in The Gondoliers.
Johanne grew up with a musical family and so joined his school choir St. Peters College, Colombo, Sri Lanka, becoming choir leader at 15. As an actor, he was heavily involved in various Shakespeare plays including “Witch“ in Macbeth, “Soldier” in Anthony and Cleopatra, “Metellus Cimber” in Julius Caesar, “Ariel” in The Tempest, and in 2005 won Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of “Puck” in Midsummer Night’s Dream. Johanne has also worked as a recording artist in Sri Lankan Bayila music. Since moving to Australia, Johanne has also been a member of Artes Christi and Manly Panto, performing in a wide range of musicals. He currently works as a financial advisor in Sydney. |

About UsThe Savoy Arts Company Incorporated has been producing shows since 1985, specialising in the operettas of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. To better reflect its primary artistic objective, commencing from 2014, the company will be performing as Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Sydney. Our performing group has provided excellent training in all aspects of stagecraft for performers who have made a career in opera and musical theatre.
