Johanna Knoechel, Mezzo-Soprano

Johanna is featured as “Pitti-Sing” in this year's production of The Mikado. 
 
Mezzo-soprano Johanna Knoechel, completed a BMus Studies in Classical Singing at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (2016) and was recently awarded an AMusA with Distinction (2018) under the tuition of Andrew Dalton.  This year she has been performing as an Associate Artist with Pacific Opera Company including the role of Seconda Conversa in Suor Angelica. Last year she was selected as a finalist for Sydney Eisteddfod’s Senior Vocal Scholarship after placing 1st in the English Art Song (21-25 yrs) and was Runner-Up in Ryde Eisteddfod’s 110B Lieder Finals (21 yrs and over). She also had the opportunity of performing as part of the Jingle Belle Singers, as a soloist at St Stephen’s Uniting Church’s ‘Hymnfest,’ and Rockdale Opera Company’s ‘Cabaret at Orlovsky’s.’ In past years she performed the role of Mistress of the Novice in Rockdale Opera Company’s ‘Suor Angelica’ (2017), held a solo recital as part of a ‘Classical Double Bill’ at Humph Hall (2017), and participated in ‘The Dowling Project’ (2016) in partnership with Sydney Living Museums.
