Publicity Photoshoot

Publicity photoshoot (Principals only) Tuesday, 17 July 2018.
Please be sure to mark this date in your calendar.  You MUST be at the shoot on this date if you are a principal! If there is a reason you cannot be at this shoot on this date, you MUST notify Dean or Dawn immediately!
We will have someone on hand to help with makeup on the night, but please come prepared with clean skin, and for ladies, you can apply the basics and the makeup person will add if needed.

Bio pics for all Cast & Crew
In previous years I have done updated headshots on the same night as this Principal cast shoot.  This will not be possible this time because I am directing the Principal shoot.  Please stay tuned for a date for the updated headshots.
NOTE: If you are happy with the headshot I took of you last year or if you have your own professionally done photos that you are attached to), then you do not need to have another photo. All new members will need to have a photo done by me on the night otherwise.

GUIDELINES & TIPS for preparing for Headshots & Main photoshoot

I have decided on the following for the photoshoot for the headshots:
You can wear whatever colour shirt you would like, but I will ask that you 'keep it simple', so preferably nothing 'with a print/pattern' on it.

I suggest to everyone to 'take a few selfies' to judge whether or not ' your shirt and appearance' will look good in a headshot. I will have my lighting kit and will be using a medium grey background.

Men

-Men MUST wear a shirt with a collar
-No tie.
-Please shave or 'tidy up' any beardage that you may have.
-If you have hair on your head, please comb it neatly or if you are really cool, you can style it...but keep it clean and simple please :-)
-Borrow or buy some concealer to hide any blemishes on the day. (I am sure plenty of the ladies would be happy to help you with this if you need it :-) )

Ladies

-Ladies, remember that these photos are from the 'chest up', so PLEASE wear something sensible. Shirts that are too low cut, strapless, skinny straps, or off the shoulder will make you look ....NAKED.
-Have your hair brushed and presentable. I prefer 'hair down', but you know how you look best...so if you think you look better with your hair up...then that is fine.
Ladies' Makeup.
-Please wear make up, but remember to keep this simple, as well. You should NOT do 'stage' makeup for a photoshoot.
-I generally recommend that you not go too dark with your lipstick, keep it neutral.
-Keep your eyeshadow neutral as well...focus more on contrast than colour. Remember that these photos may be printed black and white.
-Hide blemishes as much as you can with some concealer.
-Wear Mascara.
-False eyelashes are optional, but if you decide to wear them, please, keep them simple. Most of you shouldn't need them; only really use them if you have trouble defining your eyes because your lashes are too thin or light.

About Us

The Savoy Arts Company Incorporated has been producing shows since 1985, specialising in the operettas of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. To better reflect its primary artistic objective, commencing from 2014, the company will be performing as Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Sydney. Our performing group has provided excellent training in all aspects of stagecraft for performers who have made a career in opera and musical theatre. The Ensemble style of our productions not only provides the chorus with experience in singing with an orchestra, but also provides ample opportunity to learn and develop skills in characterisation and stagecraft.
