Suzanne Chin, Soprano

Suzanne is delighted to join GSOS again this year as Aline in The Sorcerer after playing the roles of Josephine (HMS Pinafore , 2024), Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance , 2022), Celia (Iolanthe , 2023) and Lady Saphir (Patience , 2016).

In 2025, Suzanne joined the Sydney Philharmonic Symphony Chorus, singing Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloe with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra firstly at the Sydney Opera House then in New Zealand. She will then be performing in Beethoven's 9th (Choral) Symphony with the SSO conducted by Simone Young, followed by Carols at the House at Christmastime.

She has featured in numerous shows with multiple musical societies portraying characters such as Annie Oakley (Annie Get Your Gun), Aunt March/Clarissa (Little Women), Calamity Jane (Calamity Jane), Casilda (The Gondoliers), Chiffon (Little Shop of Horrors), Christmas Eve (Avenue Q (x2)), Elsie Maynard (The Yeomen of the Guard), Lady Thiang (The King & I), Mae (The Pajama Game), Marguerite (The Scarlet Pimpernel), Miss Dorothy (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Sister Mary Amnesia (Nunsense), Sonia/Nick (Godspell (x2)), The Mother (The things I could never tell Steven), and Woman 1 (Songs for a New World).

A trained concert pianist (LmusA- Pianoforte), she has appeared in the orchestra in shows including West Side Story, The Music Man, Grease, and The Pirates of Penzance . She has musically directed (Aladdin) and recently achieved success studying opera singing (AmusA- Singing). Suzanne held a two year scholarship at the Australian Institute of Music and placed first in the state of NSW in her Music course in the Higher School Certificate.

She has worked with Vocal coaches including Christine Douglas, Maree Ryan, Paul Ferris, and Adele Robertson and has professional engagements with The Singing Angels Australia, as well as NCE ensembles.

Suzanne looks forward to spending her evenings making theatre after long days engrossed in teeth and gums, serenading her dental patients and her fussy felines.
